Goods In Operative Line Leader

Permanent, 37.5 Hours, Melmerby, North Yorkshire, Competitive Salary

As a Goods In Operative Line Leader, you will be responsible for managing goods in, stock movement and stock required for pick schedules and production plans. You will also be tasked with ensuring that your goods in are documented in accordance with company policy.

MAIN DUTIES

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

    • Receiving and registering materials to inspecting items for quality and quantity, ensuring that a variety of tasks are completed quickly and accurately including external warehouses.
    • Communicating and documenting any shortages and BBD of the product with the purchasing team.
    • Movement and organisation of stock locations.
    • Working closely with admin staff to ensure all material arriving is in accordance with purchase order specifications.
    • Monitoring storage space and tracking stock levels.
    • Ensuring stock is stored correctly and safely.
    • Managing pick schedules around production plans.
    • Maintaining inventory levels.
    • Physical Stock takes (at the appropriate frequency).
    • Investigating stock discrepancies.
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Ability to work to a fast pace without sacrificing quality and required standards.
    • Pro-actively communicate with colleagues and line leaders and purchasing about issues e.g. stock items running low.
    • Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping standard are met and exceeded.
    • Responsible for your own health and safety and watching out for the health & safety of others.
    • You are responsible for your own PPE and the washing of it.
    • Flexibility around working hours, especially during our peak periods, Christmas and Easter, and commit to two Sunday shifts in the 6 weeks preceding Christmas as a minimum.
    • Filling out any paperwork required.
    • Keeping traceability information on goods in documents.
    • You may be asked to help train other new workers.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

What competencies and skills are required?

The ideal candidate would have:

  • GCSE’s to include Math and English at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and work with various IT systems.
  • Forklift License (desirable).
  • Experience in managing a team (desirable).
